About The Position
The Senior Application Administrator is responsible for core banking and core supporting software solutions including Fiserv DNA, collectively referred to as the ‘core.’ The Senior Application Administrator will work directly with team members, other areas of technology, business units, and vendors to install, update, customize, secure, monitor, troubleshoot and maintain the supported application technology environments. Strong technology skills, technical coordination, and communication skills are essential for this role.
NORMAL DAY-TO-DAY WORK
- Evaluate new applications, systems software, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications ensuring alignment to organizational objectives and business unit needs. Make research-backed suggestions on areas that could be improved upon.
- Analyze documentation and technical specifications of any new application under deployment or consideration to determine its intended functionality.
- Lead supporting business subject matter experts and business system analysts in understanding the technical solution to the business requirements throughout the development, testing and implementation phases of new projects.
- Validate that newly developed functionality meets the technical requirements and does not break existing functionality.
- Ensure that any new software integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.
- Review and analyze existing core and core supporting applications and related systems for effectiveness and efficiency, including DR, load balancing and system availability (99.99%). Develop strategies for improving these systems and work with relevant MIS teams to deliver on these strategies.
- Perform application tuning, configuration, monitoring and administration for major apps related to position.
- Plan, manage and implement new core and core supporting software solutions and integrations. Plan and coordinate testing of changes, upgrades, patches, new releases and new services.
- Maintain system documentation, including various environments (production, test, dev, etc.) and maintenance schedules.
- Develop and manage working relationships with customers to acquire a sense of their information technology needs and develop a more in-depth knowledge of their business and processes.
- Manage vendor relationships including but not limited to account managers, operations managers and technical support.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of all policies, procedures, standards, and operating processes associated with information technology areas.
- Critical response to financial systems availability, making business decisions on member/employee experience and software/hardware solutions to improve the infrastructure.
- Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of application-usage best practices.
- Provide Tier 3 support for core and core supporting systems and applications. Work with other application administrators to train on handling Tier 2 and 3 issues.
- Develop, distribute, and coordinate in-depth end-user reviews for modified and new systems or applications.
- Take ownership for actions, decisions, and results; openly accept feedback and demonstrate both the willingness and ability to improve.
Job Qualifications
Here are a few skills you MUST have to be qualified for this position.
- Minimum 7-9 years of experience in Information Technology.
- Minimum 4-6 years of experience in core and core supporting application support or systems administration.
- Understanding of core Microsoft product stack, including the latest editions of Windows Server, Windows Workstation, Microsoft Office/productivity suite, Active Directory, DNS, Group Policies and IIS.
- Fundamental understanding of three-tier/N-tier application architecture and network technologies enabling various application tiers.
- Ability to function in a Consumer business office environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: PC, copier, telephone, etc.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. (file boxes, computer).
- Travel required on occasion.
Here are a few qualities we’d LIKE for you to have to make you more suited for this position.
- BA/BS Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
- Familiarity with Fiserv DNA core application stack including SAF, CoreAPI, Multipoint, t-Magic Automic, Velocity/Loan Director, Nautilus OnBase ECM, Compliance One, SQL Developer or TOAD.
- Experience with scripting (XML, Xpath, Batch, PERL, SQL, PowerShell).
- Motivated towards constantly improving technical skills.
- Previous experience in credit unions or other financial institutions.
