Position Summary: Team Ambush is growing again! FRSecure is currently seeking an Associate Penetration Tester who is responsible for providing security posture validation through penetration testing of systems on client networks. This is a chance to join a dedicated, growing, and supportive team, while learning and working on a variety of pen tests.
Working Location: This position is available on a full-time remote basis in the following states: AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, KS, KY, MA, MI, MN, MO, MT, NC, NJ, NV, OH, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, WA, WI. Only qualified candidates located in these states will be considered.

What Your Day Looks Like as an Associate Pen Tester:
- Performing external penetration tests of client networks; perform reconnaissance, enumerate internet-facing client systems/services, identify vulnerabilities/misconfigurations, create reports based on findings, and deliver reports to clients
- Once you have become familiar with external penetration tests, typically after 4-6 months, you will be performing internal penetration tests of client networks; enumerate client networks, identify vulnerabilities/misconfigurations, create reports based on findings, and deliver reports to clients
- Performing application penetration tests of client applications; perform reconnaissance, enumerate internet-facing client application, identify vulnerabilities/misconfigurations, create reports based on findings, and deliver reports to client
- Performing social engineering tests; perform reconnaissance, design campaign pretext, create phishing emails, create spoofed logon forms, create reports based on findings, and deliver reports to clients
- Conducting vulnerability assessments/remediation consulting; perform vulnerability scans, generate reports for scans, and advise on how to remediate vulnerability findings
- Researching and developing skills personally and share insights with the team
- Reviewing colleague’s reports for formatting and narrative errors; provide feedback on fixes
Working Hours: This is a full-time position worked Monday-Friday each week, with the expectation that the responsibilities can be completed in 40 hours each week. FRSecure's primary business hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm Central Time, however in accordance with the expectations of the position, employees will need to work outside of these hours periodically to accommodate time zones of clients within the United States. Outside of scheduled client, team, and company meetings, this position offers flexibility to set the working schedule best fit for you.
Travel: There is minimal travel associated with this position, typically less than 5-10%. Occasional travel includes on-site client visits for physical penetration tests, on-site client projects as needed, as well as any team or company activities.
Requirements
What You Bring to the Associate Pen Tester role:
- Associates degree in related field required, or equivalent combination of education, certification and experience
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience managing IT systems in a professional environment required
- CEH, Net+ or similar IT or security industry recognized certification preferred
- General knowledge of Networks, Linux systems, Windows systems, web applications, and scripting languages
- General knowledge of common attack tools, concepts, and frameworks
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
- Ability to communicate highly technical topics to non-technical people effectively
- Proficient with all Microsoft Office Suite products
Salary: FRSecure believes in and operates with equitable hiring practices. The starting salary range for this position is between $73,000-90,000, not including any bonus, incentive commission, or benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the defined salary range for the position across the United States. Within the range, pay offered is determined by a variety of factors that include but are not limited to job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
