Janel Group is seeking an IT System Administrator/Manager to support our team in delivering best-in-class logistics services to our customers! This is a corporate position based in ourSchaumburg, ILBranch Office and is responsible for managing IT systems in our more than two dozen offices nationwide across two operating divisions. Reporting to the CIO, key technical and managerial responsibilities of this “working manager” role (where you’re “doing” as well as planning, managing, and coaching) include:
Tech Administration
- Manage all current and new applications and systems for employees including but not limited to MS Office 365, Azure Active Directory, and Intune
- Own and support end user technologies (PC, Mobile, Peripherals, Telephony), end user connectivity (LAN, Wi-Fi), and patch/maintenance management as needed
- Through your team, manage Onboarding and Offboarding of IT equipment, assets, access, inventory, maintenance, software licensing and subscriptions for all applications
- Lead or collaborate on company projects related to MS SharePoint and other related systems, applications, and software
- Review diagnostics to assess the functionality of systems and install/update company software and hardware for maximum efficiency, including anticipating the timing and cost-effectiveness of replacing or updating computer items
- Create, organize, and maintain documentation of systems, operations guides, processes, and procedures
Management & Leadership
- Manage the Help Desk ticketing lifecycle while mentoring Level 1 Desk support staff and prioritizing level 2/3 Help Desk Support tickets and network administration
- Meet regularly with CIO and key internal customers to maintain a close pulse on the organization’s varied IT needs, to ensure that needs are well-met
- Work closely with external vendors, regularly assessing vendor effectiveness and recommending adjustments to CIO, as needed
- Coach and guide direct reports for skill development and career growth, enabling team members to take on broader responsibilities as the organization grows and its needs continue to evolve
- Ensure adherence to all IT Security policies and manage cybersecurity efforts within the organization while educating employees about network security and best practices for computer usage
- Through and with your team, offer technical support to company staff and troubleshoot computer problems to ensure resolution of user issues are communicated in a clear, detailed, and timely manner
Position Requirements:
- MS O365 Administrator and Azure Active Directory experience
- Experience managing a small team
- Hands-on experience with network infrastructure- firewalls, routers, modems and switches
- Maintain confidentiality where applicable
- Proficiency with Group Policies
- Experience in the following applications is a plus: MS Power Automate, MS Power BI, MS LMS365, Netsuite, and CargoWise
