Scope of Work Responsibilities:
- Network Design and Development:
- The resource must be proficient in designing, developing, analyzing, troubleshooting, and documenting computer networks and infrastructure.
- Network Performance Monitoring:
- They should be adept in monitoring network performance and applying industry best practices for security, disaster recovery, business continuity, and change control.
- Network Design and Protocols Analysis:
- Experience in developing and assessing network designs and protocols, including prototyping, will be necessary.
- Network Planning and Implementation:
- The resource must be able to plan, engineer, forecast, and identify resource needs for network systems.
- Project Leadership and Support:
- The resource should lead or assist in major network projects that support network capacity growth, upgrades, integration, and new product or feature development.
Qualifications and Preferred Credentials:
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree: Associate degree in an IT-related field.
- Certification: Active Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) in Enterprise or Security.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience: 10 years of technical experience in IT networking.
- Degree: Bachelor’s degree in IT-related fields.
- Additional Certifications (recent, within last 4 years):
- Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) in Enterprise Infrastructure or Security.
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE).
- Prisma Certified Cloud Security Engineer (PCCSE) by Palo Alto Networks.
Preferred Skills, Experience, and Capabilities:
- Technical Skills and System Experience:
- Networking Layers: Layer 2 & 3 optimization, scalable routing protocols (e.g., BGP, EIGRP, OSPF), and boundary virtual switching.
- Data Center & Cloud Networking: Virtualization, Software-Defined Networking (SDN), load balancing, and storage integration.
- Security: Expertise in Zero Trust Network Access, micro-segmentation, and advanced WAN service layers such as SDWANs and WAN Optimization.
- Network Security Services: Identity management, network access control, application layer inspection, content filtering, data loss prevention, zero-day threat management, VPN (IPsec and SSL), PKI, and two-factor authentication.
- Enterprise Systems: VoIP, physical security environments, access control, video surveillance network applications, and Quality-of-Service (QoS).
- Network Hardware: Installation, configuration, and troubleshooting for Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, and Palo Alto platforms.
- Wireless Access Systems:
- Skills in setting up, securing, and troubleshooting enterprise wireless networks.
- Soft Skills and Knowledge:
- Independence & Mentoring: Ability to work autonomously, troubleshoot, and mentor junior team members.
- Communication: Strong communication skills, especially in presenting technical information.
- Technical Documentation: Proficiency in producing technical documents, including diagrams, design documents, project plans, schedules, and user instructions.
- Additional Knowledge Areas:
- Infrastructure services, IPAM products, IP multicast, video conferencing, and streaming.
- Coding languages for scripting and knowledge of major server and desktop operating systems.
Evidence Requirements:
- Degree and Certification Evidence:
- Submit copies of degrees and certifications, including evidence of an associate or bachelor’s degree in IT and a current CCNP certification.
