How You’ll Make An Impact
Manage the DevOps and AWS teams, administering the platform infrastructure for physical and virtual servers at SiriusXM Connect for AWS and on-prem. This role will oversee the transition from Legacy on-prem to almost exclusively using AWS.
The Senior Manager is accountable for maintaining the availability, redundancy, security compliance, and restoration of the company's AWS/platform infrastructure according to agreed-upon targets. Collaborating with senior leadership, the manager develops and implements strategies for improving the quality of services and the productivity of both systems and personnel.
What You'll Do
- Accountable for supporting infrastructure within a DevOps framework both on-prem and in the cloud
- Led team that maintains Unix, Linux, Windows, storage, virtualization platforms, and AWS Cloud-based assets
- Leader for a team of 12-15 individuals
- Responsible for contract negotiations, invoice processing, and yearly maintenance renewals
- Function as an Incident Manager responsible for responding to any outage/impairment
- Design and implement projects for compliance or continuous improvement, including scheduling and performing maintenance, personnel management, infrastructure patches/fixes, and migration of resources from on-prem to the cloud
- Accountable for ensuring all systems are compliant with security patching per company policy
- Lead design and implementation projects for monitoring and event management systems
- Modernize infrastructure from a traditional on-prem paradigm to a mostly cloud-based architecture
- Produce business-relevant reporting about the quality/performance of the platform
- Works with internal business units to coordinate all customer requests and problem reports to closure
- Ability to instill confidence in clients; able to solve their problems and issues while keeping the goals of CV DevSecOps, the project, and the company in mind
- Responsible for developing and rolling out IT processes and methodology
- Works with internal customers and other IT members to create and support both external and internal customer-focused SLA’s
- Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, evaluating, and developing staff in all areas of responsibility, as well as managing negative and positive staff performance
- Design and maintain Disaster Recovery plans
- Provide strong leadership and technical skills to manage technical staff, assign and organize tasks, oversee projects such as hardware and software refreshes, recruit new staff, and manage budgets
- Must be able to create an efficient work environment conducive to teamwork and collaboration and encourage good communication between employees and management
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience up-skilling a legacy team to use newer cloud-based technologies

What You’ll Need
- B.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years experience of progressive responsibility with the management of AWS, including involvement in managing and directing a highly skilled engineering team servicing multiple customers
- 3+ years experience managing a diverse group of System Engineers (SAN, VM, Backup, Systems Administrators, DevOps)
- Experience with Cloud Migration projects
- Must understand AWS services, database architectures, application servers, and security across multiple platforms
- Solid understanding of cloud architecture, systems engineering, and networking concepts, with project management skills
- Experience with:
- AWS Services, including RDS, S3, ECS, Lambdas, etc
- Containers including Docker & Kubernetes
- NoSQL Databases
- Serverless technologies
- Unix, Linux, and Windows Server Operating Systems
- Virtualization
- Storage Area Network Administration
- Experience in resource management and reporting.This will include expense and capital budgets and system and staff planning
- Formal project management training is a plus
- Experience with ITIL or other established Information Technology methodologies is required
