Summary Of The Role
Next Decade is seeking a Cloud Engineering Lead. You will be part of an IT Infrastructure team that provides the backbone in ensuring the stability of our enterprise network infrastructure. In this role, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing and managing cloud-based infrastructure and services. Additionally, the ideal candidate will lead alignment of cloud strategies with business objectives and spearhead cloud transformation journey. In this role, you will work with the IT leadership team in conjunction with the IT Cybersecurity Team to ensure business continuity and service optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive cloud strategy aligned with NextDecade’s overall IT goals and needs
- Design, build and manage a robust and scalable cloud infrastructure on a leading cloud platform
- Ensure security, reliability and high availability of cloud-based applications and systems
- Facilitate smooth integration between cloud-based applications and on-premises systems
- Develop and implement automated processes for cloud infrastructure provisioning and management
- Stay up to date on latest cloud technologies and trends, evaluating their potential applications within the LNG industry
Requirements
- Experience developing a strategic security plan and solving complex problems
- 10+ years overall IT experience with 5+years of experience working with Microsoft Identity technologies including Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Windows File Services, and Group Policies
- Extensive experience with infrastructure and server preferably VMware and/or Microsoft technologies
- Develops, documents, and enforces the standards, Advance Active Directory security procedures, and controls for access to ensure integrity of the Windows Systems, Active Directory, and related systems as well as Azure
- Project Management knowledge and understanding of Scrum and Agile workflows
- Desired experience working in a fast-paced Industrial environment with a career track record of engineering, developing, deploying, and maintaining business critical systems in technical expertise including hands on solution development and implementation experience
- Desired experience with LNG and/or understanding of LNG Industry
- In-depth knowledge of cloud computing concepts, services and security best practices around Cloud LZ and Infrastructure Setup
- Knowledge of GPO Admin
- Knowledge of Zero Trust Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, and Group Policy Management
- Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange (Hybrid), Quest Active Roles Server (ARS) are preferable
- Must have deep and thorough understanding of Active Directory monitoring best practices and Azure
- Self-motivated, with keen attention to detail and excellent judgment skills, one who can lead as well as follow.
- Able to integrate and apply feedback in a professional manner
- Team Player with a “can do” attitude with proven leadership, communication, organizational, and strong interpersonal skills. The role requires significant interaction with many different teams across the company
- Strong skills in interpersonal, verbal, and written communication
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience preferred
Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office environment with occasional work within or outside of a complex construction environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers/fax, filing cabinets, etc.This is primarily a sedentary role; however, the incumbent must be able to stand and/or sit continuously to perform all essential job functions for a full shift.

- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. as required in order to lift files, boxes and office equipment as necessary
- Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending, standing on a stool, or climbing as necessary to perform these functions
