Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Palo Alto Firewall and Security Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in firewall configurations, policies, and rules. They should have a solid understanding of SD-WAN, MPLS, VRF, VPN, and network routing, along with expertise in TCP/IP and internet technologies. The role involves supporting Internet/Extranet Engineering through the use of various network security devices to safeguard against cybersecurity threats. Strong documentation skills and troubleshooting experience are essential, with additional experience in Azure and AWS networking considered a plus. Local candidates from the Bay Area are preferred, but the position will be completely remote. Holding a Palo Alto Networks Certified Security Engineer (PCNSE) certification is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewalls, including policies and rules.
Implement and manage SD-WAN, MPLS, VRF, VPN, and network routing protocols.
Utilize firewalls, IDS/IPS, proxy gateways, and other network security devices to protect against cyber threats.
Provide engineering support for Internet/Extranet through effective firewall management.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations and policies.
Use tools like Panorama and Splunk for monitoring, management, and troubleshooting.
Collaborate with other engineers and IT staff to resolve network security issues.
Assist with the integration of network security solutions within Azure and AWS environments.
Qualifications
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in configuring and managing Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
In-depth knowledge of SD-WAN, MPLS, VRF, VPN, and network routing.
Expertise in TCP/IP and internet technologies.
Experience with IDS/IPS, proxy gateways, and other network security devices.
Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
Tools and Technologies:
Experience with Panorama and Splunk.
Familiarity with Azure and AWS networking.
Preferred Qualifications:
Local to the Bay Area.
Palo Alto Networks Certified Security Engineer (PCNSE) certification.
